This measure ABOLISHES all Lobbyists in the United States by making it a FELONY to pay or offer to pay money of any denomination to any elected government official..
The measure also makes this criminal act a felony punishable by a $10,000 Fine and up to 10 Years in Prison.
Lobbyists are the largest THREAT to our Democracy that we have ever known. Lobbyists cost the American people over ONE TRILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR in debts and taxes that are NOT in the INTEREST of this nation or the average American Citizen. Therefore, all Lobbying MUST be ABOLISHED. The only reason this behavior is not treated as BRIBERY of a Federal Official is because the CONGRESS makes the definition of Bribery extremely different from what the Average American thinks of it.
According to Congress it's NOT A BRIBE if someone pays into my ELECTION CAMPAIGN FUND and then later asks for a FAVOR FROM ME. ALL Congress people have taken this kind of money and returned the favor at a later time. WHEN PRESSED on the subject of their voting record vis-a-vis the money they take from these "Special Interests", the Congress man or woman will tell you, "OH, just because I take money from this corporation doesn't mean I'm going to vote their way." And, if pressed further, they will go on to say, PROVE THAT I TOOK this money and then voted this way because of their money.
Now, it's just a matter of opinion whether or not they VOTED for the LOBBYIST'S cause or not and there is no proof one way or the other. These are all very clever lawyers so they know how to skate around the intent of the law. THEY ALSO HAVE PHONY VOTES for things like CLOTURE and FLOOR VOTES and even SECRET VOTES so that the American Public can FIND A VOTE ON EITHER WAY on any ISSUE. Only this VERY SELECT CLUB knows which vote is the REAL ONE.
They know the American people are far too busy making money to pay for all their mistakes that we will never find the time to track down all these crimes and so it has become the RULE of our GOVERNMENT.
By SIMPLY HAVING A NATIONAL BALLOT MEASURE ON THIS SUBJECT, this nonsense would stop and we might get a decent Congress again. BUT, in the meantime, we would have a fast and efficient way to MAKE THE LAWS RIGHT HERE and NOW. It won't matter if they go fishing all month long.
