Force Congress to Balance the Budget.
ALL Congressional Salaries and benefits are suspended in any fiscal years in which the Federal Budget is not in balance, except during periods of National Emergencies. A National Emergency for purposes of this measure, must be agreed upon by a 2/3 majority in Both Houses. Undeclared wars by Executive action do not count.
THE MAIN REASON our economy is in ruins is due to the UNCONTROLLED spending of the Bush Administration. Run by the Republican Party there is a LOOTING of our treasury as never before in History. We are currently TEN TRILLION dollars in debt in direct MONEY expenses that must be paid back soon and another WHOPPING 50 TRILLION DOLLARS in undiscovered and as yet unaccounted debt that will accumulate from the onslaught of future clean up around the world of the damages caused by this administration.
By Requiring Congress to BALANCE the BUDGET and withholding their SALARIES when they don't you would give CONGRESS far more COURAGE to force the PRESIDENT to spend less and be less wasteful and warlike. If he has simply killed Osama Bin Laden instead of spending HUNDREDS of BILLIONS to tear down Iraq and now REBUILD IRAQ, we would not even have noticed these minor expenses.
Congress, under present law has nothing forcing them to have more backbone in fighting off the idiotic blunders of a President who has no sense of how to keep this country safe and secure. The Republican Party is not the ONLY PARTY to be contributory to this mess.
WE MUST FORCE THEM TO RUN a BALANCED BUDGET or we DON'T pay them. Any FOOL can solve problems by throwing someone else's money at them. The true leader thinks outside the box and solves problems without spending money.
